Scale and monorepos
Work in big repos without cloning the world.
FluxGit brings partial clone, sparse checkout and focused branch filtering to large repositories and monorepos. Choose what to fetch, keep the working tree on the folders you need and reduce branch noise while reviewing the clone plan before it starts.
Scope the clone and working tree
Large repository mode prepares a lighter clone plan with blob:none, shallow and submodule options. Sparse checkout selects folders or a profile for the working tree. Branch filters focus on active, upstream or main refs without implying that other branches have been deleted.
Check remote and platform support
Monorepo workflows are in beta. Partial clone needs a compatible remote; local Windows partial clone is blocked with a controlled message. Test sparse checkout and clone options against your real repository before relying on them. Planning a clone is local: FluxGit does not send repository contents as part of that planning step.
Try a focused repository
Keep a normal backup and review the result before using a new clone plan for important work.
- Select the repository and inspect its remote and clone options.
- Choose the folders you need, then check the working tree and branch filters.
- Use separate worktrees for parallel tasks; worktrees do not create a security sandbox.
Measure the right part of performance
The 29 September 2026 graph benchmark measured synthetic commits already in memory on Apple M4, macOS 26.2 and Node 24.15.0. Layout of 100,000 linear commits averaged 55.9393 ms across 27 samples, with ±6.13% relative margin of error. Git reads, startup, network operations and canvas rendering are excluded. This does not measure full monorepo opening, clone speed or Linux performance. Read the full table and method on the Git client page; the source command is below.

Does partial clone work with every remote?
No. The remote must support partial clone, and the local Windows restriction still applies.
